I hate christmas music....
when it is played waaaaay too early. I mean c'mon people, there is small section of christmas music, religious or not. And when you start playing christmas music in november, it gets boring by the time christmas actually shows up. That's what really ruins it for me. I mean my mom starts christmas music in late november, and by the time christmas finally shows up, I am SICK OF IT!!!! It's not that i don't like chrstmas music, it's just it's too over played. I say start playing it around 2 weeks before and thats it!!!

You have a major point there, that annoys me to no end.
I'm pretty much sick of it already, I don't really even like Christmas music... Perhaps it's just too cheer-y for me.
Theres only so much Christmas cheer one can take.
I pretty much only hate department store Christmas music. I mean, it's no wonder people kill each other over merchandise. They've had Feliz Navidad drilled into their poor heads day in & day out for the past 3 1/2 weeks!
Yeah... all the cheesy versions of the same old songs.
Yeaahhhhhhhh. I wish there were some non-pop-ish covers, cause if they're gonna redo the song, they should at least make it good.
Feliz Navidad... I think people were singing that in Spanish class. It was amusing at first but got annoying real quick.
Yeah. Some of those songs, like Feliz Navidad, are good the first few times you hear them. Then it's banging your head against the wall and screaming at the poor cashier.
I feel lucky I don't go to many places, so I can listen to my own music.
Although I like that one song... Urmm... I think it's called Christmas Shoes. I like sad songs, for some reason.
oh sad songs are the best. Anyone can write about sunshine and flowers, but sorrow is harder to modulate.
I don't enjoy happiness. I'm a very depressive person. But I do love sad songs.
I could never take love songs. Although most of my favorite songs have been about ending relationships or there's even one which I think may involve self harm (The last Night by Skillet.). But I'm not sure.
Angry songs are somewhat irking as well. I don't really like screamo and such.
Sad songs make me feel so happy!
Well, they don't exactly make me happy, per se, but they make me a little more contemplative, which is very good foe me to be every once in a while. Favorites sad du jour: "Hello, Goodbye."
Whatever!!! U guys r nuts!!!
You just told us that on the post below this one...
ANd plus we kinda knew that...
Call me weird, but I think a lot of the time happiness is delusion and sticking your head in the sand. If you look at the REAL world, you're gonna see a lot of pain and unhappiness.
...I kinda have that take on life. People call me emo for it. ¬_¬
I feel that apathy may be emotion's true essence or whatever. Because if you're happy or sad, the feeling just seems to eventually wear off, and you feel different emotions, but it seems to all go back to indifference in between all the different emotions. It does for me, anyway.
(If that seemed incredibly nonsensical or dumb, I have trouble explaining it.)
No I know what you mean, I think that way too. You're happy for a moment, but the feeling is gonna go away. The thing I have a problem with is if we have a meaning. I mean if thats true then life seems kinda pointless. It's hard to put into words.
I have never seen much point in life.(No, I'm not suicidal, not anymore, anyway.) It's kinda just existence for goals that even though it's said we have, nobody knows what it is! (Well...I suppose someone might know.)
This is my excuse for seeming incredibly aimless most of the time, although most people put it off as laziness. (Which it could be :))
I've found that an aim in life (besides realizing that God actually persues a relationship with me) is doing my best to clear my head of pretenses and resevations towards people, and to try and make them smile.
I've never seen a point in life either. Making yourself happy and living a good life just seems a little shallow, and I don't even know if I believe in God anymore.
I've never gave the meaning of life much thought, except that I feel it's rather pointless.
Religion's a really frustrating deal for me, like I know I don't think about God and Jesus and religion as much as I should, and I have the feeling one of these days I'm probably gonna pay for it. :/ But it seems so odd how no one in the world can agree on the same things, so no one's ever really certain what exists and what does not. Nothing is really what you can call a clear fact when it comes to religious beliefs.
(Yeah... I like to talk... Need to stop with long comments...)
Well, "making ourselves happy" is pretty fruitless, because even /w the availability any number of gratifications, they are all superficial. We can't make ourselves truly happy. Happiness isn't even supposed to be our desired end for life. The basic most need of man is to be reconciled to God and to our fellow human beings. Even if it doesn't make us happy (and usually it will)
Nah... I like to talk too. And deep conversations are fun.
Deep conversations confuse me...
I don't even try to make myself happy, It always makes me feel really weird.
Perhaps because you aren't accustomed to it?
Yeah... That's probably it... I used to be a happy person... But that was years ago... I've found that I laugh easier than I smile, though.
Yeah, I used to be happy too, when I was a little kid and I didn't see anything wrong with the world. But that doesn't last long.
Happiness certainly is a tricky emtion. Is it good to be oblivious and happy, or conscious and blankly morose? Being too pessimist is inherently toxic, and I think there is wisdom in finding a moderation. We are not always happy. My belief is that the key here is resting in the knowledge that despite all odds, emotions, and cicumstances, we have the King on our side.
such deep thoughts....
Find the healthy balance. Connect with your inner life-force. Meditate on the good things in life.
to heck with that..
I know exactly what you mean, bro. It's all about the subliminal messages. I guess hearing jingle bells will increase the chances of someone buying a plastic, electronic Santa that shakes it's butt when you push a button.
Why do people buy a stuffed mouse that plays a tinny, canned version of Jingle Bell Rock? Some people...
